Hitman Reborn 96 Notice!

I know a lot of you have been wondering… “The episode aired on Saturday. What’s taking so long?”

Well… Here’s basically what happened…

It looks like FUNimation is now working to uphold the copyrights held by the Japanese producers of the anime Hitman Reborn. That means that even though no United States company has any copyright on the series, subbing groups are still obligated by law to abide by the copyrights held by the Japanese copyright holders.

Looks like it may be a while before we see any subbed episodes of Hitman Reborn. Yuurisan Subs (the major subbing group for Katekyo Hitman Reborn) has been forced to drop the series by FUNimation.

So far no other subbing group is releasing subs for the anime series, (Shinsen Subs has dropped the series and Kesenai Subs hasn’t made any recent releases, so they probably dropped it as well). I highly doubt any other subbing group will challenge the copyright system that has recently become active, so look out for any more subbed episodes of Katekyo Hitman Reborn, but don’t expect too much.

This would be a great opportunity for all of you anime lovers to switch over and read the manga. The story is the same and it’s just as entertaining to read it as to watch it, although it takes a lot less than 20-25 minutes to get through a chapter each week. 🙂

If I can find anyone who is releasing decent quality RAWs, then I’ll post those since there aren’t any subs. I’ll keep a look out, but if anyone finds one before I do, you can post a comment with the link right here. 🙂
